Before taking office, the Nigerian president had pledged to weaken Boko Haram, tackle corruption and improve economy.
It's been a year since Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as Nigeria president,the Africa's most populous country and largest economy.
Before coming to power, the former general had promised a wide range of reforms, including battling unemployment, fighting corruption and improving the economy of his energy-rich nation hit by making the oil price low.
Buhari had also promised to tackle Boko Haram, the rebel group that controlled significant chucks of Nigerian territory and was responsible for the death of thousands.
"We are going to tackle them head on ... Nigerians will not regret that they have entrusted responsibility to us," the former military ruled had said in one of his speech after being sworn-in in the capital territory of Nigeria, Abuja last year.
