The Islamic State better known as ISIS militant group has announced that its West African affiliate Boko Haram has a new leader.
Abu Musab al-Barnawi, who was previously the spokesman for Nigerian-based Islamist, is featured in the latest issue of an IS magazine.
It does not say what has become of the group's former leader Abubakar Shekau,Mr.Shekau took over as Boko haram group leader,after the death of the group founder,Muhammad Yusuf,who died in 2009 in police custody.The group became more deadly under his leadership.
The group's battle against West African states is described as a war fought by Muslims against "apostates" and "crusaders''. March 2015 in a Boko Haram propaganda video the eccentric Mr.Shekau was last seen in one of the videos,pledging allegiance to ISIS,which was originally based in Syria and Iraq.
